The role of parental expectations and students' motivational profiles for educational aspirations

Abstract The present study examined the stability and change of students' motivational profiles from Grade 7 (Time 1) to Grade 9 (Time 2), using task values and self-concepts of ability in mathematics, Finnish language, and arts as indicator variables. This study was conducted to investigate the psychometric properties of the Finnish version of the Internet Gaming Disorder Test (IGDT-10), identify the proportion displaying problematic gaming behavior (PGB) among Finnish vocational school students, and characterize the relationships between sociodemographic factors and gaming characteristics predicting PGB in this population. This cross-sectional study involving 773 students (mean age 17.5 years). Socio-demographic and gaming behavior characteristics were established using a web-based survey. Developmental trajectories of school burnout: Evidence from two longitudinal studies

Abstract To examine school burnout trajectories, in Study 1, 15-year-old adolescents ( N = 614) completed the School Burnout Inventory twice during their final term of comprehensive school and twice after the transition to upper secondary high school or vocational school. In Study 2, school burnout in 17-year-old adolescents was measured twice annually ( N = 575) during their upper secondary education. W artykule przedstawiona została realizacja projektu edukacyjnego pt.: Opolskie szkolnictwo zawodowe bliżej rynku pracy”, który integruje szkoły zawodowe z terenu województwa opolskiego z lokalnymi przedsiębiorcami. Realizacja tego przedsięwzięcia jest odpowiedzią na potrzeby samych przedsiębiorców, którzy zgłaszali problemy w pozyskiwaniu odpowiednio wykwalifikowanej kadry. Projekt przybliża również istniejący rynek pracy młodym ludziom, którzy w najbliższej przyszłości staną się jego aktywnymi uczestnikami. Przedstawiono również wyniki badań, jakimi objęci zostali uczestnicy projektu, uwzględniające ich opinię na temat celowości, efektywności i przydatności podejmowanych działań
Learning and teaching oral communication in English in vocational school : learners' and teachers' views

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää Englannin opetuksen tilaa ammatillisessa koulutuksessa. Suullista kielitaitoa painotetaan Ammatillisen perustutkinnon perusteissa sekä koulukohtaisissa opetussuunnitelmissa, joten myös tämä tutkimus keskittyi siihen. Vastaavia tutkimuksia on aiemmin tehty lukio-opetuksesta, mutta ei ammatillisesta opetuksesta. Aihe on tärkeä koska Suomessa osallistuu vuosittain satoja tuhansia ihmisiä ammatilliseen koulutukseen. Tutkimukseen osallistui 61 kolmannen vuoden opiskelijaa ja kolme opettajaa. Oli tärkeää, että molempien osapuolten näkemykset pääsivät esiin.
